Trixie's Glittery Night by StreamlinedPegasus Trixie's Glittery Night by StreamlinedPegasus
AHHHHHHHHH!!! :iconrainbowdashlouderplz:

Sorry, had to get that out.

This thing has been in the works FOREVER. I only recently gained the skills and equipment to finish it, but I am extremely pleased with the results! This is, without a doubt, my best wallpaper I've ever made. Gosh, those rocks were hard to make! Now I have Trixie's problem, except with rocks! DON'T TRUST THE ROCKS PONIES!

... nah just kidding. I'm alright with them. For now...

I made the majority of the brushes used in this sucker, a fact I am proud of, and made everything except the Trixie vector and the Moon vector.

Now, are you ready for the crazy bit? This is only my SECOND published bit of digital painting. Admittedly the pony featured is not hand drawn, but I had already shaded Trixie to fit the scenery, so I went ahead and used her.

Well, after much ado, I present Trixie's Glittery Night! I hope everypony likes it! :icondashomgplz:

Favorite song listened to while making this:
Sim Gretina - ANEMOMETER

P.S. Sorry for not making anything in so long! I got... lazy. :icon20percentcoolerplz:

I LOVE the detail and the layering on this, the shadows on the grass and the cliffside made me have an awesomeness seizure. :iconspazattackplz:

Did Spike spill glitter AGAIN?!

Oh well, he'll just lick it up in the morning.

Nice... I like the glittery effect, only Trixie seems to be done in a different style then the rest of piece, which is a bit of a downer. Other then that I really like this work, kudos.

Thank you! Trixie is a vector, so she will look different from the rest of the work.

This must be the super-tricky rock you were talking about. Well, I can say that it turned out really, really well. I tihnk it's my favourite part of the image, actually. The second closest one is the water and the moonlight trail on its surface. It seems some sort of dust-shedding light bug took pity on Trixie and gave her something to smile about. Nice shadows on the grass there, as well—the grassy surface is really good there, works great with the rock. All them textures.
The way the trail of particles seems to go right into the screen's surface is playing tricks with my eyes, as if something got into them. If only it turned into the side of the screen a little bit earlier. If the closest smudges were to be omitted, it would be just fine. Other than that, it's an interesting effect. Some sort of firefly migration?
Overall, I see that you've put a great lot of work into this. It's a job well done.

Thank you! I'm glad you like it. :icondashissuperhappyplz: The glitter thing on the left was intentionally meant to be close so that it felt like it was almost coming out of the screen-- a kind of three dimensional effect if you will. I did think about turning it left quicker, but it would have degraded the effect I was looking for and flattened out the image somewhat. It's almost reminiscent of Op Art in the way it uses optical illusions.

Guess so. Good to see that it was intentional. Sadly, it still means I'm getting an urge to clean my left eye every time I look at it, but I guess that means it works.

Haha, I guess so. :icon20percentcoolerplz: I usually experiment with my art, so I usually try something that deviates from the norm. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
